Academic Advising Mentors

Our Academic Advising Mentors can help you choose classes, read your Audit, review and revise your graduation plan, and answer any other questions you may have. They have also been trained to help students with common questions such as planning schedules, summer school options, finding on-campus resources, course sequencing, and much more.  Their walk-in hours are listed below.

Lorena Moreno

Major: Biological Sciences, Microbiology and Immunology 
Year: Senior 
Extra-curriculars: Scribe Merced, AMSA, Undergraduate Research, and Volunteering
Favorite Class: BIO 101 because all the chem and bio courses I had already taken come together in one class. 
Favorite thing about Merced: The many opportunities that are available on campus. 
Fun Fact: I'm from El Salvador.

 

 

 

Brian Freeman 

Major: Biological Sciences, Microbiology and Immunology
Year: Senior
Extra-curriculars: American Physiological Society STRIDE Research Fellow, Undergradaute Reseatch Assistant, UROC Alumni, Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity, Order of Omega, American Medical Student Association, Pre-Health Council 
Favorite Class: Molecular Immunology (BIO 151) is my favorite class because it helped establish my interest in immunology-based biomedical research.
Favorite thing about Merced:  My favorite thing about Merced is all the amazing and supportive people that I have met throughout my time here that have always encouraged me to do my best.
Fun Fact: I've been to Coachella twice!

Favorite Class:  Physics 9 because of the great instructor I had. Really made the class interestng!
Favorite thing about Merced:  All the of the opportunities there are in the community to get involved.
